SOCU Donates $10k To Streator River Rescue

Streator Home Savings Bank and SOCU joined together to support the Rodriguez family’s River Rescue drive with a donation of $20,000 toward the purchase of two boats, a truck, a sonar detector and other necessary equipment for the Streator Fire Department.

Credit union CEO Kathy Lucas and Ed Mollo, of Streator Home Savings Bank, read from a joint statement stating they hope the money will allow authorities to respond faster to water emergencies and will potentially save lives as well as keep responders safe.

“The Streator community has been supporting our bank and credit union for over 202 years combined. It was important to us to team up together and make a significant donation for this cause,” the statement read.
