Consumer Loan Manager

Overview: SOCU is currently seeking a Consumer Loan Manager who will be responsible for providing leadership within the loan department and call center. The Consumer Loan Manager will be responsible for planning, leading, directing, organizing and overseeing the department’s operations, member service and sales activities.

With a committed focus on delivering high-quality member service, the Consumer Loan Manager must bring strong leadership and the ability to develop and implement successful strategies to further grow department service and sales levels. The preferred candidate will be an innovative leader with the capability of improving processes and staff performance to enhance member service for Financial Service Representatives and Call Center Representatives.
This position will be responsible for implementing and establishing a new Call Center department.

After implementation, the position will also be responsible for directing and administering the operational efforts of the Call Center and member-facing Consumer Loan personnel.

Responsibilities will also include, but not limited to: ensuring established policies and procedures are followed; training, directing, and developing personnel; ensuring that professional relations exist with members and that reporting and informational needs are met; ensuring that lending and member service activities result in maximum volume, appropriate profit for the Credit Union, and a minimal delinquency ratio; attending and participating in meetings as assigned and keeping management well-informed of activities and significant problems; ensuring that members are promptly and professionally served.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High school graduate or equivalent. Additional college coursework in business or finance preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Understanding of the Credit Union’s field of membership. Thorough knowledge of Credit Union services and products. Understanding of related legal and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with financial institution functions, policies, and procedures.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: At least 3 years of related experience in a financial institution with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience (in or outside of financial institution).

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Strong interpersonal, leadership, and supervisory skills. Well organized. Ability to operate related computer applications and related business equipment. Attention to detail. Ability to maintain an effective and efficient workflow.
